I have always thought of spending more time understanding the fundamentals (the trunk) & the details (leaves) always follow logically. Now I have a larger mind to attest the concept as well

I do kinda feel like my head is full! My context switching penalty is high and my process isolation is not what it used to be.
Frankly, though, I think most people can learn a lot more than they think they can. They sell themselves short without trying.
One bit of advice: it is important to view knowledge as sort of a semantic tree -- make sure you understand the fundamental principles, ie the trunk and big branches, before you get into the leaves/details or there is nothing for them to hang on to.

On a personal note, In all 3 of my jobs held as an H1, I’ve never felt salary-discriminated in comparison to an American citizen.

No, it does not. Everyone (with any not-so-common-sense) can safely assume US will exist in the next 50 years, by the time I retire. No one with any sense will make that claim with any of these companies listed below.

Safety used to mean gold, US treasuries, and blue chip stocks. Now it means Google, Apple, Amazon, and Facebook.
