I have been hearing a lot of "concerns" from the Indian political class about losing influence over the Sovereign Nation of Sri Lanka. To just state the above requires a profound dumbness that only conjurs in the minds of politicians.
Firstly, knowing this is non-sense, the standing position of the Government of India is to not meddle with other nations internal affairs.
Secondly, the shear geographical closeness of India to Sri Lanka and the econo-political ties with India are beyond severance in the near future.
Thirdly, to even consider China, whose exports to India, are at least half the entire GDP of Sri Lanka, would support Sri Lanka, against Indian interests are laughable at best.
Lastly, about all of minority population loyal & faithful to the people of India (originally to the politicians, which was proved time & again wrong)
