I watched this movie for its direction & not the story line.
I did not like the basic storyline in which the main character (Amy Adams, only of the very few actress that is beautiful & acts well, I mean well) is casted as have a relationship with a man who is already married, out of love & affection. For heavens sake she is responsible in all other matters such as being a responsible single mom, affectionate sister & a loving daughter. If it was for any other reason (money, emotional breakdown, office relationship, etc) I probably can understand. I could not understand this out of neither logic nor emotion.
Anyway, given the storyline, this was the best picture a director can deliver. Every character (my personal favorite will be Amy Adams, reason? see below) has performed their given role to the best you can get out of an actor in my opinion.
Three scenes that impressed me the most
- Amy Adams trying to cover up to a old friends of hers about her job as a janitor (household cleaner) & the following scene where she drives away
- Amy Adams telling her boyfriend (married to some else) that “it is over”
- Emily Blunt (Amy’s Sister) hanging off the railroad bridge screaming & the following scene she softly cries (with a flash back)
I would recommend it anyone that can enjoy the movie just for its flow & characterization.
