Justice Scalia

SCOTUS Justice Scalia defended his opinion he wrote on Lawrence v Texas. Part of the opinion reads

It is clear from this that the Court has taken sides in the culture war, departing from its role of assuring, as neutral observer, that the democratic roles of engagement are observed. Many Americans do not want persons who openly engage in homosexual conduct as partners in their business, as scoutmasters for their children, as teachers in their children’s schools, or as boarders in their home. They view this as protecting themselves and their families from a lifestyle that they believe to be immoral and destructive. (Emphasis is mine)

It is easy to replace the word homosexuals with blacks and the paragraph above would have sounded like what Governor Wallace would have spoken & history has kept Wallace in the place he belongs. As a shrewd history student, it is now up to Justice Scalia to rescind his opinion or share the side with Wallace in history books. Plain & Simple

Update: Though, I do not believe that Justice Scalia will neither rescind his earlier opinion nor will write a favorable opinion in this case, it would be best if his opinion is only on the legality of the issue and not the morality as would like to see it.
